Websites Hiring Transcriptionists to Work From Home

Hello and welcome back to The Write Styles, where today I am publishing an article of websites that are currently hiring transcriptionists!

Personally, I love transcribing. The feeling of staying up late at night wrapped up in a blanket fueled by beverages while typing out the most interesting audios ever, is hands down, one of my favorite things to do! The best part is, all you need is a computer, a fast internet connection and a pair of headphones.

Today’s article is a list of companies that are hiring transcriptionists. Stay tuned 😉

Websites Hiring Transcriptionists to Work From Home

SPEECHPAD

SpeechPad has been recommended to me so many times. You work when you want, for as long as you want. On this site, you also get to do subtitles for videos. There are no minimum required hours. If you have a computer and an Internet connection, you already have everything you need to start transcribing. As a transcriber, you will be paid twice a week, regardless of how much you earn. You are free to work on whatever jobs you find interesting.

Take a grammar quiz and submit a transcript sample to demonstrate your English language and grammar skills. They let you know within 48 hours if you’re approved. CASTINGWORDS

Casting Words is beginner OK. $1 is needed to request a payout. Casting Words gets great transcription audios and you may preview them before selecting your work. I’ve had tons of fun transcribing for them. Their pay bonuses are great. The only downside with Casting Words is if you get someone who has never been a class captain grading your work, who gives you bad reviews, they take away your badge without a heads up. Suddenly there is no available work and then finally you notice your transcription badge is missing. Luckily if you deserved your shitty review and keep your badge, they send a mark up of your work and you learn from the mistakes, I still highly recommend this crazy site.

CROWDSURF

CrowdSurf is a dedicated community of freelance transcriptionists working to create video captions for deaf, hard of hearing and second language viewers. This site has been recommended to me a couple of times. They offer short transcription tasks, available day and night so that you can work anytime, anywhere! It’s free to sign-up, you’ll be paid instantly, and they offer several opportunities for growth and promotion. Apparently it is perfect for beginner transcriptionists. CrowdSurf uses Work Market to hire and pay all CrowdSurf freelancers. You’ll join CrowdSurf via Work Market, and work with them on their private editing platform, the CrowdSurfWork platform. It’s easy to get started. Most transcription tasks are very easy. Work on your own schedule. If you have a few free minutes throughout the day, use them. Make a difference! Your transcript makes videos accessible to deaf and hard of hearing viewers.
